Day 9: Your favorite song and why
I really love listening to music, because I can't be without sound around me. So music is a pretty familiar choice for my ears. I also often use music to study, for example, if I want to learn English, I'll listen to English songs, etc.
Although some people believe that music is not allowed. But in my opinion, as long as it's not used for bad things, doesn't make us lose track of time, and doesn't listen to songs with bad words, it should be okay. But that's just my view, I still respect other people's views and opinions on that.
I'll give you some recommendations for songs I like, and maybe you'll
like one of them too.
First: Sheila On 7 - Berhenti Berharap
This is an Indonesian song from the famous band from Yogyakarta, 'Sheila On 7'. This song has a slow tempo with melancholic lyrics. I don't know why this song always echoes in my brain whenever I feel lonely, down, sad, and lost.
The lyrics of this song are quite relatable to the atmosphere of
contemplation about life. We often question life, especially when we experience
difficult problems. It's like asking why life has to be created with a dark
side if the bright side is pleasant. We sometimes don't realize that we
sometimes need darkness to be able to appreciate the light.
Second: G-Dragon - Crooked
This is a Korean song by a singer I like and have been following since his first debut. This song has a pretty deep nuance and story. The presentation of the music video also seems to depict the emotions that are trying to be conveyed.
Even though the lyrics are actually about sadness, they're presented
with a fast tempo that makes this song interesting. This is what makes me like
it. It's like when we're angry and sad about what's happening, the fast tempo
allows us to vent the emotions we're feeling. It's like venting all the
feelings in our hearts as freely as possible.
Third: My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Okay
The third song has a slightly different genre. I usually use or sing this song when I feel like I'm not okay, but I want to say that I'm okay. A contradictory feeling that we often experience.
We know we're not okay. But, instead of announcing it to the world, we often choose to hide it. This contradictory thing I like can also be found in the lyrics of this song.
Almost the same as Crooked, this song has a fast tempo. Especially some
parts that present a little screamo in it, which allows us to vent things that
are suffocating. This is also what makes me like it.
More or less, those are three of my favorite songs that often echo in my
head, especially when I'm feeling sad. Do you have a song that always echoes
when you're in a certain condition? You can share it in the comments.
