Day 5: Your favorite book and why
It's been a long time since I've been diligent about reading a book. I used to love books on psychology. Reading those books made me know many forms of human personality and also helped me to become a better person.
The negative side that happened to me is that it also made it difficult for me to see something that shouldn't be. I think that 'simple things' should be known and applied by everyone, like if we're wrong, we should naturally apologize. Even though I realize, not everyone realizes that.
Someone once said to me, "Books are the most powerful hypnotic tool." How could it not be? When we read books, their contents usually influence our way of thinking without us realizing it. So writing a book isn't easy. The author's credibility must be thoroughly tested so that they don't make a haphazard book with information that can't be accounted for.
Let's get back to the topic. So what book is my favorite? I'll take a
book with a fiction theme. This book actually has a slightly unique story. But,
this book is memorable in my life.
Dee Lestari - Ksatria, Putri, dan Bintang Jatuh
This book has a memory that's quite ingrained in my memory. I didn't have much money to read books back then. I usually could only borrow books from the school library. You definitely know that the books in the school library are very limited. There are some book topics that you can't find.
One day, I saw this book on my older sister's bookshelf. We have a pretty big age gap, 6 years. At that time, I was in the 3rd grade of junior high school, while she was about to graduate from college. I tried to read the book secretly while she was still at college. Funny, my sister really doesn't like it when her stuff is touched. So I'll remember exactly where the book is and put it back exactly the way it was before I took it.
This book has an interesting cover with pictures of stars and also an interesting title. Even though the contents weren't like what I imagined, still in junior high school. It's just that the way the story is presented makes you curious and want to keep reading.
I tried to read very carefully so as not to leave any marks on the book. The difficulty is when I have to stop reading because my sister is almost home from college. I have to remember exactly what page I stopped reading on so I can continue the next day. Another worry is if the book suddenly disappears from my sister's shelf, whether she gave it to someone or something else. Luckily I was able to read the book until the end.
Actually, I don't really remember the contents anymore because it was
decades ago. But, that memory is still deeply ingrained in my memory. So it
makes that book full of memories.
If my sister reads this post. Please forgive your little sister. Hehehe
