Synopsis of Biola Tak Berdawai:
Renjani (Ria Irawan) is a former ballet dancer. She chooses to leave her dreams after a traumatic experience she had. Renjani returns to her hometown where her grandmother lived. She transforms her grandmother's legacy house into a foster home for disabled children. She is helped by Mbak Wid (Jajang C. Noer) who serves as a doctor. Mbak Wid also has a dark past that is no less bleak than Renjani's.
The children who are cared for in the house don't have many who live long. Dewa, one of her foster children who has brain abnormalities, was initially thought to not live long. However, fate has other plans, Dewa survives until the age of 8. Therefore, Dewa is a child who is very loved by Renjani. Even though Mbak Wid always reminds her not to get too attached because you never know if they will be lost at any time.
One day, Dewa accidentally opens Renjani's ballet equipment box. Renjani shows Dewa her dance with music accompaniment. Dewa, who usually doesn't show any response to his surroundings, suddenly lifts his head. This makes Renjani very happy. Renjani thinks music therapy might be able to make Dewa show progress.
A music event is held in the city. Four violinists will perform an attractive show. Renjani takes Dewa to watch the show. It is there that Renjani meets Bhisma (Nicholas Saputra), one of the violinists who falls in love with her.
Renjani hesitates about Bhisma's feelings for her. Renjani doesn't easily accept Bhisma's presence and open her heart. Because of Bhisma's much younger age and the dark past that Renjani keeps hidden, she forces Bhisma to stay away.
Will
their love story succeed?
Review:
The film Biola Tak Berdawai has a very interesting story idea. The choice of music and sound effects is also very good and original. The camerawork and color composition are also very good. The choice of colors makes this film feel classic with a strong romantic nuance. Making this film quite memorable.
The acting of the actors is also beyond doubt. The acting is presented well and naturally, both from the dialogue and the expressions of the actors. Although the language used is quite formal, it doesn't make the film stiff.
Although this film has been presented very well, there are parts that may be difficult for the audience to understand. The character of Mbak Wid is depicted as a tarot reader who explains life with analogies of stories. For viewers who don't know the story, it might be difficult to understand the meaning of the dialogue delivered by the character of Mbak Wid.
Overall,
this film is very interesting to watch.
